Crude Soybean Oil

Crude soybean oil is the raw oil extracted from soybeans before it undergoes refining processes. It retains impurities such as free fatty acids, phospholipids, and other compounds.

Production Process

  1. Extraction: Soybeans are cleaned, cracked, and dehulled. The resulting soybean flakes are then subjected to solvent extraction to obtain crude oil.
  2. Degumming: Phospholipids are removed to prepare the oil for further refining.

Uses

  • Food Industry: After refining, it is used for cooking oil, margarine, and shortening.
  • Industrial Applications: Used in biodiesel production, and as a feedstock for various chemical products.
